§ Mr. Alan ClarkBetween the first nine months of 1981 and the same period in 1988 the volume of United Kingdom exports of manufactured goods on a seasonally adjusted balance of payments basis increased by 36 per cent. The corresponding increase in the volume of imports was 93 per cent.
