To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what recent representations he has received regarding the problem of low flying of Royal Air Force jets in rural areas.

Mr. Freeman

During the month of October a total of 352 inquiries and complaints about military low flying were received. It is not possible without disproportionate effort to determine which of these concerned rural areas.

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence if he will now commission an independent review of Her Majesty's Government policy on low flying.
