Notes to the table:
1. The total cash resources for each region are those used for all revenue and capital purposes and cash drawn from the Department. Local income and payments made centrally or by other authorities on behalf of the authorities within each region is also included.
2. The population figures make no allowance for persons resident in one region who receive treatment in another or for differences in age/sex structures and morbidity.
3. Resources employed by family practitioner committees to meet payments to doctors, dentists, pharmacists and others contracted to provide family practitioner services are excluded.
