To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security when he last met representatives of war widows and pensioners; and what matters were discussed.

My right hon. Friend discussed a wide range of matters with representatives of war pensioners and widows at a reception given for them on 21 September. My noble Friend, who has special responsibility for war pensions, meets representatives of war pensioners and widows regularly to discuss matters of concern to them.

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security what recent representations he has received on behalf of war widows and pensioners.

My right hon. Friend has received a number of representations, mainly about the position of war widows who do not receive a pension under the Armed Forces pension scheme administered by the Ministry of Defence.
