To ask the Secretary of State for Defence (1) if he will halt the planned felling of a line of mature trees at the royal naval college, Dartmouth, in connection with the proposed construction of a security fence; if he will undertake consultations thereon with Dartmouth town council and South Hams district council at an early date; and if he will make a statement;

(2) what steps were taken to procure the requisite permissions for the erection of a security perimeter fence and the felling of mature trees at the royal naval college, Dartmouth.
