To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he will publish in theOfficial Report a table showing for 1958, 1968, 1978 and the latest available date an index based on 1985 = 100 showing information available on the level of rateable values and the level of rents for offices in the City of London.

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he will publish in theOfficial Report a table showing information available on the aggregate rateable value of the 10 largest office blocks in the City of London in terms of their rateable value on 1 April 1986 together with the average rateable value per square foot; and if he will provide corresponding figures for 1978.

The aggregate rateable value at 1 April 1986 of the 10 largest office blocks in the City of London is £24,527,383. The average rateable value per square foot is £8.76. The corresponding figure for 1978 is not readily available and could not be produced without a disproportionate expenditure of time and resources.
