Mr. JacksonThere are no such plans. The work of clinical academic staff in universities is most closely comparable with that of doctors and dentists in NHS hospitals, hence the pay link. The same considerations do not apply to non-clinical staff at universities.

Mr. JacksonAn increase was paid in March 1988 as the second stage of a settlement agreed in 1987. No information has yet been received from the UAP relating to salary levels in future years.
