§ Mr. BrookeTables showing the distribution of civil servants in Government Departments by standard planning regions are published annually in "Civil Service Statistics" (Table 3 in each edition). Information in respect of total salary expenditure and a breakdown by standard planning region of civil servants by grade for the years 1980 to 1986 cannot be provided without disproportionate cost.
