To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security how many claims are awaiting settlement grant at the family credit unit in Blackpool.

On 4 November, the latest date for which information is available, 56,400 claims were undecided. Of these 36,400 were awaiting the outcome of inquiries to the claimant for further information or to employers about earnings.
