To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security what reciprocal arrangements exist between United Kingdom social security offices and social security offices in the Irish Republic.

The social security benefit position of EC nationals moving between the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland is in the main covered by the European Community social security arrangements. Liasion for the purpose between those countries' social security office is generally undertaken through the Department's branch at Newcastle upon Tyne.
