HC Deb 10 November 1988 vol 140 c295W
Mr. Hinchliffe

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security if he will bring forward proposals to allow for payments made under section 27 of the Child Care Act 1980 to be disregarded for income support purposes.

Mr. Peter Lloyd

There is already provision to disregard the first £5 a week of any regular payments of this sort; any payment for housing or accommodation costs not met by benefit and all regular payments in kind. In addition, the first £250 of any irregular payments made in a 52-week period is treated as capital: the limit will be removed later this year.
