§ Mr. Norman LamontThere were three criminal prosecutions by the police in 1987–88. There have been another three so far this year. Further prosecutions are pending. Tax and penalties are recovered by civil proceedings or settlements, but figures are not available for mortgage fraud investigations separate from other Inland Revenue investigations.
