To ask the Secretary of State for Health how many product licences (parallel imports) have been granted for medicines imported from each of the member states of the European Community; and what was the value of the parallel imports of medicines from each country in 1987.

The number of product licences (parallel imports) granted for medicinal products imported from each of the member states of the European Community as at 31 October 1988 is as follows:
