To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment whether the Gleneagles agreement affects the rights of individual British professional sportsmen to practice their profession in South Africa.

In accordance with the Gleneagles agreement, the Government seek to discourage sporting contact with South Africa. The Government have no powers to prevent professional sportsmen from competing in South Africa.
