HC Deb 08 November 1988 vol 140 c138W
Mr. John Marshall

To ask the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster what information he has as to how many industrial disputes have disrupted postal services in London during the past year.

Mr. Forth

Industrial action by postal workers is an operational matter for the Post Office Board. However, it has informed me that, during the period November 1987 to October 1988, there have been a total of 55 industrial disputes within the letters business, four within the parcels business and eight within the counters business which affected postal services in the numbered London postal districts.
