Mr. JacksonInformation about the proportion of students in receipt of industrial scholarships is not available. Students in receipt of mandatory awards may receive sponsorship or scholarship income up to a specified limit without any corresponding reduction in their grant. In keeping with the Government's policy of encouraging links between industry and higher education, the amount of scholarship income which is disregarded in assessing entitlement to grant has been substantially increased in recent years.
