(2) how many 16 and 17-year-olds were on YTS on the latest date for which the information was available.
§ Mr. LangAt 30 September 1988 there were 62,329 agreed YTS places in Scotland, of which 50,273 were filled and 12,056 unfilled.
§ Mr. McLeishTo ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will give the total number of approved YTS places for each of the area manpower boards in Scotland at the latest date for which figures are available.

§ Mr. LangWhile all 16 and 17-year-olds in Scotland are eligible for YTS, a comprehensive analysis is not available on an area basis.
§ Mr. McLeishTo ask the Secretary of State for Scotland (1) what is the total number of approved YTS places currently available which have never been filled;
(2) what is the total number of authorised YTS places available which have been unoccupied for more than six months.
