HC Deb 07 November 1988 vol 140 c104W
Mr. Squire

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security if he will estimate what proportion of families with children claimed supplementary benefit at the latest available date.

Mr. Peter Lloyd

It is estimated that in May 1987, the latest date for which information is available, about 17 per cent. of families with a dependent child or young person aged under 19 were receiving supplementary benefit.
