To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security if he will make it his policy that mobility allowance will be extended beyond the age of 75 years; and if he will make a statement.

My right hon. Friend announced on 27 October that we shall be bringing forward legislation to extend the upper age limit from 75 to 80 as an interim measure pending our consideration of the series of reports on the survey of disabled people undertaken by the Office of Population Censuses and Surveys.
