§ Mr. Matthew TaylorTo ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what representations he has received concerning the provision of development assistance to Kampuchea.
§ Mr. Chris PattenWe have received numerous inquiries from hon. Members, voluntary agencies and members of the public about aid to Cambodia. I set out our policy on this issue in reply to the hon. Member for Monklands, West (Mr. Clarke) on 28 July, at column 697. As I said then, we are contributing £100,000 to the Food and Agriculture Organisation/World Food Programme appeal for Cambodia. Last month I announced an additional allocation of £500,000 to support projects, including humanitarian projects in Cambodia, proposed by British voluntary agencies for assistance under the joint funding scheme.
