HC Deb 07 November 1988 vol 140 cc73-80W
Mr. Pike

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will publish in theOfficial Report a list of the housing investment programme allocations for each housing authority in (a) 1979–80 and (b) 1988–89 in constant terms.

Mr. Trippier

Allocations for 1979–80 at 1988–89 prices and the latest allocations for 1988–89 are as follows. The 1988–89 figures are provisional since additional sums— principally for Estate Action schemes—are yet to be allocated.

Since 1981–82, local authorities have been able to supplement their allocations by expenditure financed from capital receipts. Nationally over half of local authorities' capital expenditure in 1988–89 is expected to be financed in this way.
