asked Her Majesty's Government:

What is their reaction to the announcement that representatives of the Chinese Government and of the Dalai Lama of Tibet will meet in Geneva early in 1989.

We would welcome such a meeting. The best way to solve the problems in Tibet will be for the Chinese Government to work constructively with the Tibetan people, including the Dalai Lama.
