§ Mr. Peter BottomleyThe transport and road research laboratory studied the safety performance of traffic management at major roadworks on motorways in 1982. The results are published in research report 42. TRRL subsequently concluded that more detailed assessments of the kind referred to would not be cost-effective. One alternative design, the flat traffic delineator, has been proposed, considered and used.
