§ Mr. RifkindI have received a number of representations on behalf of the Scottish Council for Single Parents, which has formally applied for renewal of funding for its training unit under section 9 of the Social Work (Scotland) Act 1988.
The council's application is being carefully considered, along with applications from a number of other voluntary social work agencies, in the light of funding priorities and the resources available for section 9 grants in 1989–90. I cannot anticipate the outcome.
