Mr. Galbraith

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland (1) if he will give for each of the last five years the number of people charged for selling alcohol to those under age;

(2) if he will give for each of the last five years the number of people charged with being drunk and disorderly;

(3) if he will give for each of the last five years the number of people charged with drink or drug offences.

Statistics on persons charged are not available. The table shows, for relevant offences, the number of cases cleared up by the police in Scotland in the years 1983 to 1987. (In most cases where an offence is cleared up a person is charged, though one person may be charged with several offences.)
