HC Deb 03 November 1988 vol 139 cc706-7W
Mr. Wigley

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what applications he has received for urban aid in the Dwyfor area for 1989–90; whether each of these applications is valid for consideration within the scope of the urban aid scheme; and if he will ensure that the multiple deprivation of this area is duly considered when deciding on such applications.

Mr. Grist

I have received two applications for urban aid for 1989–90 in the Dwyfor area, both of which are valid for consideration within the scope of the urban programme. These are:

  1. (i) Provision of changing facilities and clubhouse at the Traeth sports fields, Porthmadog. £100,000 capital costs.
  2. (ii) Preseli harbour—provision of workshops and harbour master's office. £156,500 capital costs.

I am careful to ensure that the comparative needs of all local authorities are given serious consideration.
