§ Mr. EggarThe information requested by my hon. Friend is given in the table. The table also includes those international organisations which have incurred unpaid fines. The figures may be reduced by late payment.
The total of 5,838 for the first six months of 1988 is a welcome reduction of 42 per cent. over the same period of 1987. It compares with nearly 67,000 in the first six months of 1984 before publication of the 1985 White Paper. The top 10 missions account for 35 per cent. of the total. We shall be underlining our concern to the heads of these missions with a view of achieving further reductions.
