§ Mr. Ieuean Wyn JonesTo ask the Secretary of State for Wales if he is satisfied with the provisions made by local authorities in Wales for emergency housing for people who(a) suffer from alcohol abuse, or (b) are released from prisons or detention centres.
§ Mr. Grist[holding answer 2 November 1988]: Local authorities have ample powers to secure emergency housing for all categories of homeless people. Information is not held centrally on the way in which local authorities exercise these powers. No representations have been made to me which would suggest that particular authorities are failing to act responsibly.
