Lord Chelwoodasked Her Majesty's Government:
Whether they will list the items of community legislation with significant impact on British law, specifying any which they regard as over-bureaucratic or socialist in character, and whether failure to veto such legislation since 1973 has been due to their obligations under the Luxembourg Agreement or for other specified reasons.
§ The Minister of State, Foreign and Commonwealth Office (Lord Glenarthur)All community legislation is listed in the six-monthly White Papers on developments in the European Community. We would oppose proposals for new legislation which we regarded as over-bureaucratic or in any other respect undesirable.
