HC Deb 03 November 1988 vol 139 c767W
Mr. Higgins

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport whether the Howard Humphreys' investigation into possible routes for the A27 in the Worthing area included consideration of the level of the water table at the lower points of the recommended route and the implications of this for storm water and foul sewer drainage under normal conditions and those experienced during flooding in recent years.

Mr. Peter Bottomley

Howard Humphreys considers that the geological condition and topographical position of its recommended route do not suggest that any exceptional drainage problems are likely. Detailed design which would be needed for any scheme would include drainage.
