§ Mr. Maude[holding answer 31 October 1988]: Tables covering the world production of zirconium minerals and titanium minerals, including ilmenite, are given in "World Mineral Statistics 1982–86", compiled by the British Geological Survey. This publication is available in the Library of the House. The possible effects on competition in certain high value minerals and metals including, inter alia, zircon and titanium will be considered by the Monopolies and Mergers Commission.
