Mr. Beith

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what is the average hourly wage for(a) full-time female employees, (b) part-time female employees, (c) full-time male employees, and (d) part-time male employees, in Scotland since 1985, in cash and real terms.

The following information has been derived from the new earnings survey, which is conducted by the Department of Employment in April each year, and covers a 1 per cent. sample of employees who are members of PAYE schemes.
