The average length of time spent on custodial remand by female prisoners who were in custody at the time of their trial was 129 days for those tried in 1986, and 43 days for those tried in 1987.

§ Mr. StanleyThe information is as follows: The average determinate sentence imposed on female prisoners in 1986 was 12.8 months, and in 1987 10 months. Four women prisoners were sentenced to life imprisonment in 1986, none in 1987.
