Member for Edinburgh, East (Mr. Strang)Official Report, 20 May, 325W column 611, how many P and O company personnel have been allowed use of Ministry of Defence facilities; if he will list the facilities so used; over what period of time they have been used; what has been the charge to the company; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. FreemanThe P and O company has hired the swimming pool belonging to the Royal Marines school of music thrice-weekly since 9 May. On each occasion about 20 P and O employees have used the pool and changing facilities. The company has been charged at the normal rate of £7.75 per 45-minute session for use of the pool. The hire of the pool to P and O is consistent with long-standing arrangements which I referred to in my reply to the hon. Member for Edinburgh, East (Mr. Strang) on the 20 May at column611.
