§ Mr. Nicholas BennettTo ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will give the co-responsibility levy per tonne of corn in each European Community country and the percentage this represents of the price per tonne.
§ Mr. Donald ThompsonThe co-responsibility levy for all cereals in all member states is 5.38 ecu per tonne. This is 3 per cent. of the intervention price for common wheat. The relationship between the levy and the intervention price does not change when they are expressed in national currencies because both are converted using the green rate applicable to cereals in each member state.
The levy is currently the following rate per tonne in each member state: 262W
