HC Deb 25 May 1988 vol 134 cc218-9W
Mr. Home Robertson

To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will make a statement on the recommendations contained in the Wildy report on the future of animal disease research in Britain with particular reference to proposals for decentralisation and a new animal disease co-ordinating board.

Mr. Donald Thompson

[holding answer 23 May 1988]: The Wildy report to Agriculture Ministers and the chairman of the Agricultural and Food Research Council on research and development in farm animal diseases was published on 4 March 1988. The report's recommendations, including those for the establishment of an animal disease co-ordinating board and on the restructuring of establishments, are under consideration and no conclusions have yet been reached.
