HC Deb 25 May 1988 vol 134 c174W
Mr. Shersby

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what was the cost figure used for the acquisition of publicly owned land in the metropolitan green belt for the purpose of enabling the A40 improvement scheme to be undertaken at the junction with Long Lane, Hillingdon.

Mr. Peter Bottomley

At the 1987 public inquiry the total cost of all the land, including Hillingdon station, needed for this scheme was estimated at £3.375 million. No separate estimate was made for metropolitan green belt land. The actual purchase price will be a matter for negotiation with the landowners concerned.
