Mr. Blair

To ask the Secretary of State for Employment if he will place in the Library copies of all leaflets and brochures from the "Action for Jobs" and "Action for Cities" campaigns.

Mr. Cope

[holding answer 18 May 1988]: I have arranged for the following leaflets and brochures to be placed in the Library:

  • —"Action For Jobs" booklet PL843.
  • —"Action for Jobs" booklet (ethnic language versions) PL782 Hindi, Vietnamese, Urdu, Gujerati, Bengali, Punjabi, Cantonese.
  • —"Action for Cities" brochure.
  • —"Action for Cities Guide for Action."

Mr. Blair

To ask the Secretary of State for Employment if he will list, giving the dates of their employment, those advertising firms employed by the Central Office of Information on the "Action for Jobs" and "Action for Cities" campaigns.

Mr. Cope

[holding answer 18 May 1988]: Davidson Pearce Ltd. was appointed by the Central Office of Information in April 1986 to the "Action for Jobs" campaign.

The "Action for Cities" campaign does not employ an advertising agency. The "Action for Cities" breakfast presentations are organised by the Commercial Presentations Group, a conference and presentations company which was appointed directly by the Department of Trade and Industry in January 1988.
