Mr. Galbraith

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will give the number of staff employed in the private offices of his Parliamentary Under-Secretaries in July 1987 and April 1988.

Mr. Rifkind

There were 2.25 whole-time equivalent staff in each of the private offices of the two Parliamentary Under-Secretaries of State on 1 July 1987 and 1 April 1988.
