§ Mr. Ieuan Wyn JonesTo ask the Secretary of State for Defence if he will list those military installations in Wales which are regarded as being support facilities rather than operational military units; and whether his Department has any plans for the closure or privatisation of these facilities.
§ Mr. FreemanThere are the following support facilities in Wales:
RNADS Milford Haven and Trecwn, where a study has been carried out into the future roles and tasks of the depots. A consultative document will be issued in due course.
RNSD Llangennech where a decision to close the facilities was announced in 1981. Other support facilities are located at HM Mooring and Marine Depot, Pembroke Dock, 39 District Workshop, Bridgend, RAC Sennybridge, ASU Brecon, RAF Sealand or RAF St. Athan. There are no plans for their closure or privatisation.
