HC Deb 23 May 1988 vol 134 c82W
Ms. Walley

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment, pursuant to the answer to the hon. Member for Davyhulme (Mr. Churchill) of 28 March,Official Report, columns 306–7, if he will list by constituency the number of petrol stations currently selling lead-free petrol; and what steps he is taking to encourage a more uniform distribution of such outlets throughout the United Kingdom.

Mr. Moynihan

The information requested could be obtained only at disproportionate cost. A copy of the latest available list of petrol stations selling unleaded petrol (a total of 713 on 15 February 1988) and a map showing their distribution have been placed in the Library of the House. I understand that the total number of such stations now exceeds 1,000. The distribution of these petrol stations within the United Kingdom is reviewed at meetings of the unleaded petrol group. which I chair.
