To ask the Secretary of State for Social Services if, pursuant to the answer to the hon. Member for Nottingham, North of 10 May,Official Report, column 91, he will make it his policy to collect centrally information on the number of doctor's contracts which are (a) whole time and (b) less than whole time.

Mr. Newton

Although we do not collect information centrally on the number of doctors who have applied to have their contracts varied from whole time to less than whole time, we do collect information on the number who hold each type of contract. The latest available information is set out in the table.
