§ Mr. WigleyTo ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what is his policy with regard to dealing with those individuals and bodies in Wales who wish to communicate with his Department through the medium of the Welsh language.
§ Mr. RidleyThe Department's policy is to answer communications in languages other than English in the writer's language wherever possible. Normally, unless an urgent reply is required, any correspondence to the Department that is written in Welsh will be answered in Welsh.
