§ Mr. WigleyTo ask the Secretary of State for Education and Science what is his policy with regard to dealing with individuals and bodies in Wales who wish to communicate with his Department through the medium of the Welsh language.
§ Mrs. RumboldGenerally, it is the practice of the Department to respond in English where a communication is received in another language, but so far as is reasonably practicable, the Department would seek to respond both in English and Welsh to correspondence received in the Welsh language. There is no facility in the Department for dealing orally with questions raised in that language.
