To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department when he next expects to discuss European broadcasting problems with his counterparts in the member states of the European Economic Community and the Council of Europe.

The next meeting of Council of Europe Broadcasting Ministers is due to take place in Stockholm on 23–24 November to discuss European broadcasting policy in an international context. There are no formal arrangements for meetings of Broadcasting Ministers in the framework of the European Community, but further discussion of the draft EC directive on broadcasting will no doubt take place in the Council in due course.
