To ask the Secretary of State for Social Services, pursuant to his answer to the hon. Member for Caernarfon of 1 March,Official Report, column 552, if he will give the dates on which meetings have taken place with representatives of local authorities on the implementation of the Disabled Persons Act 1986.

Since the Disabled Persons (Services, Consultation and Representation) Act received the Royal Assent on 8 July 1986, meetings with representatives of the local authority associations for England have taken place on the following dates:

  1. 4 July 1986
  2. 19 December 1986
  3. 24 February 1987
  4. 14 April 1987
  5. 14 May 1987
  6. 2 June 1987
  7. 15 June 1987
  8. 9 October 1987
  9. 20 October 1987

Apart from these formal meetings there have been frequent contacts with the association about the Act.
