HC Deb 19 May 1988 vol 133 cc564-5W
Mr. Morley

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Services (1) what is the average wage for those staff involved in cervical cancer screening;

(2) how many staff involved with cervical cancer screening earn over £17,000 per annum.

Mrs. Currie

[holding answer 18 May 1988]There is not a group of staff occupied wholly on cervical cancer screening. A range of staff in district health authorities and family practitioner committees (for example, GPs, practice nurses, pathologists, laboratory staff, administrative staff) are involved to some extent in the programme among their other responsibilities. Information on actual salaries is not held centrally.
