§ Mr. Peter BottomleyWe share my hon. Friend's concern about the safety of bus doors. In February we put proposals for new safety regulations to deal with this problem to the Bus and Coach Council, London Regional Transport and the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders.
I shall be meeting representatives of the bus industry on 21 June to discuss points which the Bus and Coach Council and the SMMT have brought to our attention.
