Member for Hazel Grove (Mr. Arnold) what information he has as to whether the Boundary Commission still expects the general review to commence in 1990; and how far in advance of the statutory deadline the commission is aiming to report on the outcome of this review.
§ Mr. Douglas HoggWithin the limits prescribed by the Parliamentary Constituencies Act 1986, the timing of each commission's work is a matter for it to determine. I understand, however, that the Boundary Commission for England hopes to submit a report fairly early in the 1993–98 period allowed by the Act, and that the start of their review is likely to be announced early in 1991.
