HC Deb 18 May 1988 vol 133 c478W
34. Mr. Dykes

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment if he has any plans to give guidance to outer London local planning authorities about the case for modernising their local density and structure plans to take account of the latest trends in private estate development; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Waldegrave

The density of new development is a matter for the borough to decide in the light of local circumstances and taking account of any general guidance. We will consider whether any new general advice on density policies would be appropriate in the Secretary of State's strategic guidance to be issued early next year. The guidance will take account of the advice to be put forward by the London planning advisory committee.
